We are based in Port Elizabeth, with a service branch in East London (specialist load testing only).

Our company, Load Mass Crane Services cc (LMCS), is registered with the Lifting Equipment Engineering Association of South Africa (LEEASA).

We are the appointed coastal distributors for SWF Krantechnik who manufacture and supply class-leading crane kits and hoist components.

We actively distribute various other types and makes of chain hoists and a variety of other lifting equipment. As such, have the support of our associates and national importers whilst offering a localised supply and service to our valued clients for:

  • Overhead Cranes
  • Crane Kits
  • Electric Hoists
  • Jib Cranes
  • Portal Cranes
  • Container Handling Cranes
  • Stackers
  • Lifting chains and tackle
  • Other associated Materials Handling Equipment.

Main Bridge Girders, Gantry Structures, Jib Cranes and any necessary Crane Gantry support steel works are manufactured locally to approved engineering drawings and specifications.

The Girders are manufactured in our workshops to approved drawings generated from our CRANEMASTER component calculating and computer aided design software in rapidly calculating reduced headroom clearances and improved wheel loading, thus assisting in lowering building costs during the planning and project design stage.

Components that cannot be manufactured in our workshops locally are sourced from our associates and importers.

Through the above concept, improved delivery and installation of the equipment can be achieved.

Our crane and hoists standard products range in capacity from 0,25 ton to 80 ton safe working load. Larger capacities and spans of up to 400 ton are sub-contracted to the SWF licensee for South Africa, all manufactured to the “NORSKE VERITAS’ quality system in accordance with SFS-EN ISO 9001.

To provide a quality and trouble free product and service to this highly competitive market, the product must be backed by a competent after-sales service department to maintain the equipment in its correct and safe working condition as legally required by the S.A. O.H.S. Act (Act. No. 85 of 1993).

How we aim to achieve this:

  • Each Service Technician is equipped with a modern fully equipped vehicle and a mobile phone to provide a 24-hour, 7-day a week emergency breakdown service to cater for any eventuality.
  • Our staff adheres to safe working procedures at all times and to our client’s company rules and regulations whilst working on their premises.
  • LMCS carries substantial comprehensive- and public liability insurance.
  • We are in good standing with the Compensation Commissioner.
  • LMCS has a 5-star Safety Audit grading.
  • LMCS is registered with the Lifting Equipment Engineering Association of South Africa and the Dept. of Labour. All our artisans are ECSA registered Lifting Machinery Inspectors.
  • LMCS offers a complete S.A. Dept. of Labour approved Maintenance and Service schedule, managed by a computer controlled system, to timeously highlight appropriate service intervals for specific equipment and to provide vital information required in the event of a malfunction or breakdown.
We greatly appreciate the support from all our past and present clients and would welcome the opportunity to quote for any of your future requirements.
